Trip Overview

Nepal isn’t just the top destination for trekkers and mountaineers. It’s also a haven for those who love soft adventures. Whether it’s water activities or action sports, this country has everything to offer!

Every year, a flock of tourists visits Nepal, and among them, at least 10% come specifically for adventure tourism. Since every adventure sport here is guided by experienced professionals, they’re absolutely safe, with only a very few accident reports recorded to date.

Keeping everything in mind and prioritizing a fun-filled experience with safety, Altitude Himalaya has curated this 10-day package that features the best adventures Nepal has to offer.

Your journey begins with a day exploring the vibrant attractions of the capital city, Kathmandu. The first adventure you'll dive into is white-water rafting on the Trishuli River with your friends or family, where you’ll learn the importance of teamwork and coordination.

Next, we’ll take you to Pokhara, the city of adventures. After visiting the major attractions here, you’ll wrap up your day with a peaceful boat ride on the lake.

Then comes the thrill of bungee jumping in Kushma, Parbat. After leaping off a 228-meter-high cliff (the highest bungee jump in Nepal), you'll return to Phewa Lake for a kayaking experience.

You’ll spend another day in Pokhara, this time soaring through the skies with paragliding, followed by a scenic cycling ride to Pame Village.

From there, you’ll embark on a short hike to Australian Base Camp via Dhampus Village, offering stunning views of the Himalayas.

On your return, we’ll make a stop at Hemja to book you into the final activity of the package: the Zip-flyer. This adrenaline-pumping ride is not just the steepest but also one of the longest zip lines in the world!

Did you count the number of adventures? That’s a total of eight thrilling experiences in just ten days. Without a doubt, it’s worth your money and time!

Now, before you hit that Book Now button, scroll down to check out the details of the adventures and unforgettable experiences Altitude Himalaya promises to deliver.

Ride the Rapids on Trishuli River Rafting

Ever since white-water rafting was introduced in Nepal in the late 1960s, plenty of tourists have been coming every year to experience this exhilarating adventure. Among the 16 rivers suitable for rafting, the Trishuli River stands out as the most popular choice.

It’s close to Kathmandu and lies even conveniently on the way to Pokhara. That’s why this adventure fits perfectly into our package. And to be honest with you, our previous guests have absolutely loved this adventure!

The rafting begins from Charaudi and lasts about 3 to 4 hours, covering approximately 22 kilometers. There’s also a shorter version that lasts 1 to 2 hours, but Altitude Himalaya wants you to experience only the best. Still, the choice is entirely yours!

You’ll pass through the stunning gorges of Dhading District and end your journey in Kurintar, Chitwan. It’s not just a passive adventure where you sit back and relax. This one calls for real teamwork and collaboration.

Even our Altitude Himalaya team has gone on this adventure a few times, and each trip has significantly strengthened our bond. So, if you’re doing this with family or friends, you’re truly going to have one of the best bonding experiences of your life!

A professional guide will be present on each raft, accompanied by an emergency safety team following along in kayaks for added security.

You’ll also be part of a group of multiple rafts, and from time to time, you’ll take part in fun races through the rapids. The raft even stops halfway for an exciting beach game, and the winner gets a special prize (a surprise for now)!

Must-check package: 9-day Nepal River Rafting Tour

Boating and Kayaking in Phewa Lake

Visiting Pokhara without properly immersing yourself in Phewa Lake is like visiting Paris and skipping the Eiffel Tower. And since you’re an adventure lover, there’s so much you can enjoy here, even in a short amount of time.

The simplest activity we’ve included in this 10-day Nepal Adventure Tour Package is boating in a small rowboat after you return from the World Peace Stupa. If you’re traveling in a larger group, we’ll have a bigger paddleboat arranged for you.

A short hike followed by a peaceful cruise across one of Nepal’s most famous lakes can be incredibly refreshing! Don’t hesitate to ask for the paddle from your boat operator and try rowing it yourself.

We’ve also added an optional visit to Tal Barahi Temple, a sacred site located right in the middle of the lake. However, it’s completely up to you whether you wish to visit or not.

In recent days, traditional boating has slowly started to make way for kayaking and stand-up paddling. The lake is now full of people enjoying these trending activities, and we’re pretty sure you’ll want to try them too once you see others doing it.

For that reason, Altitude Himalaya has added this as a must-do adventure in the tour. It’s simple, fun, engaging, and perfect to enjoy during sunset for about an hour or two.

Face the Heights with Kushma Bungee

The highlight of this adventure has to be jumping off a 228-meter cliff in Parbat. Kushma Bungee is now the third-highest bungee jump in the world (previously second) and the highest in Nepal.

After a proper inspection of your weight and medical/injury history, you’ll be trained by professional jump masters and operators. One of the crew members will guide you through the entire process, explaining the dos and don’ts of bungee jumping. So, make sure to listen carefully!

All you need is a strong mindset, ensuring that fear doesn’t take over. Everything else, from using the safety equipment to tightening your gear, is taken care of by the team.

Don’t make the mistake of looking down. It feels like the Kali Gandaki River is calling you, which only adds to the fear. Look straight ahead or close your eyes as the jump master counts down: ‘3, 2, 1, bungee…

The entire jump lasts about 5 to 10 minutes, but what truly matters is the experience you’ll carry with you. You can even choose a tandem bungee or go for an entirely different adventure, like the swing or sky-gliding.

This adrenaline-rushing adventure is probably on everyone’s bucket list, and doing it right here in Nepal makes it even more unforgettable.

Paragliding Over Pokhara’s Scenic Beauty

Every one of us has dreamed of flying like a bird at least once in our lives, right? With our Paragliding in Pokhara service, we’ve already helped thousands of guests spread their wings. And now, it’s your turn!

For this adventure, you’ll head to the takeoff point on the nearby Sarangkot Hill. The pilot will walk you through everything you need to know to ensure your flight goes smoothly.

After a proper inspection of the wind and weather, the pilot will decide the best time for takeoff. Your job is to get a good running start and soar through the air to gain height and fly as far as possible. After that, all you need to do is sit back, relax, and let the pilot handle the rest.

You’ll take in the stunning views of Pokhara City, Phewa Lake, and the surrounding mountains from above. And to make the experience even more thrilling, don’t hesitate to ask your pilot to show off some of their flying skills!

This paragliding adventure lasts about 30 to 45 minutes, and when it’s time to land at the banks of Phewa Lake, just remember to make a small run to land safely. Don’t worry! You’ll be fully guided throughout the entire experience.

Cycle Through Nature to Pame Village

Nepal’s scenic trails aren’t just limited to trekking. Many adventure lovers also opt for mountain biking tours. The route to Pame Village, passing along the banks of Phewa Lake and Khapaudi, is short yet very popular in Pokhara.

You’ll be cycling through paddy fields, pastures, villages, dense forests, single tracks, and even jeep tracks. Panchase Village is the perfect destination to unwind and enjoy the marvelous views of the mountain ranges as you ride along the Harpan River Valley.

Keep in mind that you can even customize the trail based on your preferences. Perhaps, you’d like to choose a different region around Pokhara. The total ride time we offer is about 3 to 4 hours, so you stay energized and fresh for the adventures that lie ahead.

A Short Hike to Australian Base Camp

You’re in Nepal, and returning without a trek would be a complete disappointment. However, it’s essential to know that even short treks usually last three to four days, which can leave you tired and make the other adventures feel less rewarding.

For that reason, Altitude Himalaya includes this short yet scenic hike in this 10-day package, starting from Phedi (1130m). Soon enough, you’ll pass through the beautiful Dhampus Village (1650m) and finally reach the Australian Base Camp (2060m).

It’s a 6 km uphill climb that takes about 4 to 5 hours, depending on your walking pace. There’s no need to worry much about altitude sickness, and this is going to be a guided tour with you needing just a light backpack.

This is the perfect opportunity to meet and greet the locals, with playful children often asking for chocolates as you pass. Don’t forget to wave your hand and say ‘namaste’ as you walk along the well-maintained trail.

Note that this is the same trail that leads to the famous Mardi Himal Base Camp (4500m). However, choosing that route would require an additional four to five days.

You’ll spend the night at Australian Base Camp, and the next morning, you’ll wake up to incredible views of the Annapurna range, including Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, Manaslu, Dhaulagiri, Lamjung Himal, and many other mountains & peaks.

The hike continues the next day, as you take a different route toward Kande before driving off to your next adventure.

A Thrilling Zip-Flying Experience in Pokhara

Yet another adrenaline-pumping adventure in this 10-day tour is the zip-flyer, which spans a 600-meter drop across a distance of 1.8 kilometers. This happens to be the steepest, tallest, and longest zip-line in the world. And once you try it, you’ll definitely have a story to tell!

You get two harness options to choose from: Seated or Superman, with the latter offering a more adventurous ride. You won’t just be flying over valleys, but enjoy stunning views of the Fishtail (Machhapuchhre) and the Annapurna range on your left as you glide at speeds reaching up to 140 km/h.

You’ll be taken to the take-off point in Sarangkot by the service provider themselves, either in a private vehicle or via a scenic cable car ride. After gliding for about a minute, you’ll land at the base in Hemja.

From gearing you up, hooking you in, and launching the ride, everything is handled by the operators there. All you have to do is soar and embrace the thrill. Just don’t forget to give your best reactions because every expression will be captured!

Discover Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Bandipur in a Glimpse

While this Altitude Himalaya package is focused entirely on the best adventures Nepal has to offer, we know you surely don’t want to miss the country’s major attractions. To keep it simple and rewarding, we make sure you explore the main cities here, Kathmandu and Pokhara.

Kathmandu, known as the city of temples, offers deep religious and historical insights into Nepal. Here, you’ll visit several UNESCO World Heritage Sites

On the other hand, Pokhara gives you the best Himalayan views and takes you to some of the country’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

And it’s not just Kathmandu and Pokhara in this trip. You’ll also make a short trip to the traditional hill town of Bandipur for an overnight stay.

Here are all the places you’ll be visiting on your 10-day Nepal tour:

  • Pashupatinath Temple: A sacred Shiva temple where you’ll receive blessings for the adventures ahead. You’ll also witness cremation ceremonies at the Bagmati Riverside and observe various Hindu rituals.
  • Boudhanath Stupa: The world’s largest mandala-shaped stupa, a deeply spiritual site for Tibetan Buddhists. Join devotees in a kora walk, spin prayer wheels, and watch lamas chant mantras.
  • Swayambhunath Stupa: Also known as the Monkey Temple, this site offers insight into Kathmandu’s origin and how Hinduism and Buddhism coexist in Nepal. Don’t miss the Harati Devi Temple in front of the stupa.
  • Kathmandu Durbar Square: The historical heart of Kathmandu, where you’ll learn about the Shah kings of Nepal. A highlight is the Kumari Ghar, home to the living goddess Kumari.
  • Thamel: Nepal’s tourist hub, and most likely where you’ll stay. Enjoy its vibrant markets, nightlife, and diverse restaurants during your leisure time in Kathmandu.
  • Bandipur: A charming Newari hill town in Tanahun district offering rich cultural immersion and stunning morning views of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Manaslu ranges.
  • Devi’s Falls: A dramatic subterranean waterfall that originates from Phewa Lake, crashing into a rocky gorge before disappearing underground. A perfect monsoon spot for photos.
  • Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave: Located right opposite to Devi’s Falls, this cave stretches over 2,000 meters, housing a Shiva temple inside. Venture deeper to see a hidden view of the falls.
  • Pumdikot Shiva Statue: A 108-feet-tall Lord Shiva statue atop the southern hills of Pokhara. On clear days, enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayas and a sweeping view of Pokhara City and Phewa Lake.
  • World Peace Pagoda: Just beside the Shiva statue hill, this Buddhist monument is visible from Lakeside and beyond. A peaceful site ideal for yoga, meditation, and quiet reflection.
  • Sarangkot: Known for sunrises and sunsets, this trip brings you here for adrenaline activities like paragliding and zip-lining instead.

Phewa Lake: Beyond boating and kayaking, this is where you’ll spend most of your leisure time. Stroll on the lakeside, enjoy cafes, and soak in the atmosphere.

Tour Guide, Tips

We hope that you’ve memorized the aforementioned itinerary by heart. Even though you now know where you’ll go and what you’ll do, there are probably tons of questions popping into your head right now.

Actually, similar things happen to our prior guests, and we learned about it from them. Some of us aren’t the best at asking questions over a phone call and would rather prefer an in-person meeting to discuss everything more comfortably.

Based on that, we’ve answered all the possible queries through this travel guide. Make sure you go through each of the answers, and in case there are more questions, remember that we’re just a phone call away!

How Safe Are the Adventures on This Trip?

At Altitude Himalaya, we prioritize safety above everything else. That’s why we’ve only partnered with the best adventure providers in the country.

These aren’t just words. We genuinely mean it! Let us explain why every adventure we’ve chosen is among the safest options available for you:

  • Trishuli White-Water Rafting: In addition to your raft guide, a dedicated safety team accompanies you in case anyone accidentally falls over. You’ll be equipped with a life jacket, taught how to lock your feet inside the raft, and guided to paddle in sync with the team to prevent the raft from collapsing during rapids.
  • Boating: Life jackets are provided for your safety.
  • Kayaking: You’ll be given a life jacket and a waterproof pouch for your essentials. Clear instructions will be provided before the activity begins.
  • Bungee Jumping: The crew uses internationally certified gear and inspects all equipment after every jump. You’ll receive thorough instructions until you’re 100% confident. Even the bridge is checked daily to ensure everything is functioning properly.
  • Paragliding: Only highly experienced pilots are allowed to fly with passengers. The weather is carefully monitored before every flight, and only high-quality wings and harnesses are used.
  • Cycling: This is a guided tour, so you won’t get lost in nowhere. Also, you’ll be equipped with all essential safety gear, including a helmet and riding gloves.
  • Hiking: A professional guide will accompany you, and you’re advised to wear or carry all the necessary trekking essentials.
  • Zip-Flyer: The entire zipline system is built on advanced US-based technology, and all safety gear is securely fastened by professional operators.

That’s not all. Altitude Himalaya ensures that every adventure takes place in favorable weather conditions. In case of any disruptions, we’re always prepared to adjust the itinerary accordingly. Just be sure to stay in touch with us at all times.

Best Time to Experience Adventures in Nepal

The best time to visit Nepal is during the Autumn (September to early December) and Spring (March to May) seasons. These months also happen to be the ideal times for each of the adventures you’ll be embarking on.

Let us explain why:

  • For water-based adventures, the water levels are neither too high nor too low, and they fir perfectly after the monsoon season.
  • For activities like bungee jumping, zip-lining, and paragliding, the weather remains clear, with minimal chances of unexpected winds.
  • These seasons are also perfect for hiking, offering the best views of the mountains.

On the other hand, the monsoon season (June through August) can disrupt most of these adventures due to constant rainfall. And the peak of winter (late December to February) is far too cold for a comfortable experience in Nepal.

Prepare Right: What You’ll Need to Bring

Packing is often an overlooked factor that can cause last-minute stress when traveling. To ensure you don’t find yourself in the same situation, Altitude Himalaya has prepared the ultimate packing list for your Nepal adventure trip:

  • Visa: 15-day tourist visa
  • Insurance: Coverage for all the adventure sports included in this package
  • Clothing: Comfortable and breathable t-shirts and shorts/joggers for adventure sports, down jackets, and winter clothing for hiking
  • Hiking Essentials: Proper hiking boots (which also work for bungee jumping and zip-lining), trekking poles, a 20 to 30L trekking backpack, personal water bottle, hydration drinks, and extra snacks (go through our Nepal trekking gear checklist for further details)
  • Medicines: Medical documents (if applicable), first aid kit, painkillers, paracetamol, anti-relief spray, and other common medications
  • Personal Items: Sunglasses, sunscreen, toiletries, make-up items, chargers, power banks, cameras, filming permits (if applicable), an extra pair of prescription glasses, etc.

We understand you might be concerned about your luxury items, but with Altitude Himalaya’s support, be assured that everything will be kept safe. In fact, we offer secure storage options at our contact office in Pokhara. Additionally, we can arrange for your hotel to securely store your items while you’re out.

For instance, if you're heading for an overnight stay at Australian Base Camp, we can keep your non-essentials in Pokhara. This way, you won’t have to carry all your luggage, and only focus on the essentials for your hike.

Are Trip Photos and Videos Included?

Lucky for you, every adventure sport included in your package comes with photos and videos. This includes rafting on the Trishuli River, bungee jumping in Kushma, paragliding in Pokhara, and zip-lining in Hemja.

But what about boating, kayaking, cycling, and hiking? Since these activities are not managed by any adventure companies, photos and videos aren't included.

But don't worry, it's not an issue! You’re welcome to bring your own camera or use your smartphone to capture memories during these activities.

Alternatively, you can let Altitude Himalaya handle it for you at a minimal additional fee. We’d be more than happy to assist you in preserving every moment of your adventure!

What to Expect for Food and Stays on This Trip

We’ve been focusing so much on the adventures that we almost forgot about your diet and accommodation. Honestly, that’s the last thing to worry about when coming to Nepal.

Every lodge or hotel you'll stay at offers some of the best hospitality you’ll ever experience. And we’re not exaggerating here. It’s deeply ingrained in Nepali culture to treat guests as gods, so you’re in for a real treat!

To be specific, Altitude Himalaya has arranged for you to stay in 3-star hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara, a 2-star hotel in Bandipur, and a cozy teahouse lodge while at the Australian Base Camp.

Since you’ll be spending most of your time exploring, we haven’t included many lunches or dinners in your itinerary (just breakfast). This gives you the freedom to explore and indulge in the diverse food options Nepal has to offer.

However, on your hiking trip to Australian Base Camp, we’ve got you covered with all three meals, which primarily consist of the traditional Nepali Dal Bhat. This will ensure you stay energized for your hikes over the next two days.

In addition to safety, there are certain norms and values that can enhance your trip and make it even more enjoyable. Here are some essential dos and don’ts to help you understand them better:

Personalize Your Adventure Tour

This 10-day Nepal Adventure Tour package has been carefully curated based on feedback from our previous guests and advice from adventure specialists. We’ve taken into account your rest time, leisure activities, and the time spent at each adventure spot to ensure everything runs smoothly.

However, we understand that there might be activities you’d prefer to replace. Rest assured, Altitude Himalaya will not proceed without your full consent, as our primary goal is to provide you with the best experiences possible.

If you’d like to make any adjustments, simply contact us via WhatsApp, and we’ll customize your adventure based on your preferences.

For example, you can change the rafting duration. If a shorter adventure appeals to you, we offer a more relaxed rafting option, although it won’t be as adventurous as the 3-hour ride.
